Hi again!

Who is a small bird?

a small bird is a queer and trans indie musician living and working in Chicagoland. She is originally from New Jersey. She proofreads pharmaceutical information during the day and at other times reads and writes, views and illustrates, and, obviously, makes and listens to music.

Some of her music is autobiographical, some of it very clearly isn’t. It’s a long list, but one can assume she is not a freemason, werewolf, vampire, bug, ghost, Frankensteinian creation, dragon, circus performer, or Californian, whereas she is al lesbian who has been to Seacaucus.

Why is she called “a small bird” ?

Mostly she thought it would be funny, but she also says this mantra to herself sometimes to remind her to make things for good reasons:

i build my nest,,

i eat a leaf,

i do my work,

i go to sleep.

i am a small bird.

So who made the cover art?

The cover of in transit was done by Mara Bower-Leo.

The cover of creature comforts is by Pavii. You can find more of Pavii’s work here

The cover of the single “headache” was drawn and designed by Plasmophage and . Here’s Plasmo’s Instagram.

All other asb artwork was made by a small bird and her partner.

here’s a few we didn’t use, for fun

Anyone else on “the team”?

All music is written, performed, and recorded by a small bird as of yet, except for “all my friends,” which was co-written by Nick Navari, and one time when she stole several of the motifs from Bach’s “Toccata and Fugue in D Minor.” Releases from “forest song” to " besides were mastered by Jake Zeisel. All releases beginning with “copycat” were mastered by Folie.

The following people have contributed their art, advice, notes, instruction, and/or general hearing ability to the production and development of the small bird discography:

Emma McGorray — Folie — Jake Zeisel — Jay Marchand-Knight— Katherine Connolly — Penny Kay

Ben Weinman — George Costanzo — Mara Bower-Leo — Nick Navari — Pavii — Wolfy

Austin Cody — Nate Hollander — Rosie Tucker — Stella Meadows — Will Barker

a small bird performed most of the music,

But she didn’t make all of the sounds.
